Egan Houseboat Rentals has been a family run business for over 50 years, in 2022, the Kent Family purchased the business and is still family run today. From the moment you arrive you will experience friendly staff that make you feel very welcome. Operating from their own marina, Egan Houseboat Rentals has the largest fleet of houseboats for the local waters. Egan Houseboat Rentals is located 20 min south of Bobcaygeon, the houseboating capital of Ontario at the bottom of Pigeon Lake a short drive from Toronto.
You will be able to enjoy the relaxing waters and scenery while you cruise through the Kawarthas and Trent-Severn Waterway. The Kawartha Lakes consists of over 250 lakes and winding rivers that provide year-long recreational activities. Houseboating in the Kawarthas provides the opportunity to discover at your own pace secluded bays and relaxation.

Experience Required:
Previous experience is not required. You will be provided a comprehensive audio-visual training program, available online, that fully explains everything you need to know. Minimum age of 25 with a valid Driver’s License to rent a houseboat.
Licensing:
You do not require a boating license (Pleasure Craft Operator Card) to rent a houseboat. However, they are encouraged. Egan Houseboats will provide you with training prior to your arrival and onsite training upon arrival. Once completed you will be issued a temporary license that is valid for the duration of your trip. You will need to keep this document readily available if requested by officials.

Linens:
Linens are not provided, however, available for rent. Linen rental for $50 + tax per bed (2 people per bed includes 2 sheets, 1 comforter, 2 pillows, 2 pillow cases, 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 face cloths) (1 person per bed includes 2 sheets, 1 comforter, 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 face cloth)
Pets:
Pets are allowed, for a $75 cleaning fee.
Additional Costs:
There are a number of additional costs that you should budget for during your vacation and will depend on the duration of your trip and the distance traveled. Each operator has different policies and should be discussed directly with them. Some costs will or may include:
